The East Gipsy Band brings together leading Hungarian jazz musicians with some of the stars of Romany folk music. They are living proof of the possibility of a novel and exciting fusion between the musical tradition of the Romany and jazz.
This sensational group has toured many foreign countries, and have played in Canada and the United States, earning great success in New York’s legendary Blue Note and at the Detroit Jazz Festival.
The programme of Bridge of Cultures, their newest record in seven years, connects continents and people. The songs take listeners to an eventful, honest world, the home of unconditional love. The band will also be joined at their concert in Uránia by world-famous Hungarian virtuoso of the violin, Roby Lakatos, and internationally celebrated saxophonist phenomenon Tony Lakatos.
